The KDIC Co-hosts a Seminar for the Deposit Protection Agency of Thailand
The KDIC dispatched two experts to the Deposit Protection Agency (DPA) of Thailand where they attended a two-day training seminar, conjointly hosted by the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Japan, the KDIC and the Malaysia Deposit Insurance Corporation, on 12~13 March. The main purpose of the seminar was to introduce advanced deposit insurance systems from around the world to the executives and employees of the DPA of Thailand, which was established in 2008, and also to aid better understanding of the deposit insurance system by executives and employees of the relevant institutions such as the central bank of Thailand.
KDIC delegates delivered a presentation on guidance points on deposit insurance fund management articulated in the IADI's Funding Guidance Paper, and thereafter presented the major issues in implementing an advanced Target Fund System. The presentations included the basic concept, theoretical fundamentals, and detailed information of the current operation of the KDIC's newly adopted Target Fund System, as well as the progress made in adopting the Risk-based Premium System. Each presentation was followed by a Q&A session.
