MOU Signed between the KDIC and the DIA
On 24 March 2009, the KDIC’s Chairman, Mr. Park, and General Director of the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) of the Russian Federation, Mr. Alexander Turbanov, signed an MOU agreeing on the exchange of information and personnel.
The signing of the MOU is the culmination of a process which started in May 2008 when Chairman Park visited the DIA. Chairman Park invited the DIA to enter into an MOU to strengthen the relationships between the two organizations. In recognition of our accumulated knowledge and experience which would be beneficial to the DIA’s efforts to improve their current deposit insurance system, General Director Turbanov gladly accepted.
The gist of the MOU is that both organizations will do their best to enhance cooperative relationships and foster an environment of mutual respect. The MOU describes bilateral agreements to support activities in regard to sharing professional knowledge and information on mutual interests, and exchanging personnel by allowing for the secondment of staff to the other organization.
Before the MOU signing ceremony, the DIA delegates had a meeting with the KDIC staff to exchange opinions on current issues of mutual interest such as the protection of securities investors and resolution of financial institutions through the purchasing the assets.
