The Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) was certified for ISO/IEC 20000 by the IT Service Management Forum (itSMF) and the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) on December 15, 2010. This certification is an official approval from an international organization that the KDIC's IT services are in compliance with international standards and managed in an optimized manner.
Since 2009, the KDIC has made various efforts to receive the certification including the development of IT service management processes and systems and verification of its systems in light of the requirements of the ISO/IEC 20000. The certification was given after preliminary and document assessment by the UK's Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA).
The KDIC is the first among 15 public agencies in Korea that manage pension or public funds to be ISO/IEC 20000-certified.
* ISO/IEC 20000 is an internationally-recognized IT-service-management standard. An accredited certifier assesses the ability of a company or an organization to see whether it can deliver international standard- compliant IT services to its customers or employees.
