Subject	KDIC Helped the DIV to Enact a Deposit Insurance Legislation
The Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) sent three delegates to attend the workshop hosted by the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam (DIV) on October 6 (Thur.) under the topic of Introduction of the Deposit Insurance System in Korea. They were also there to provide assistance to the DIV for the enactment of a deposit insurance law. The DIV is working with the Economic Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam to enact a law on deposit insurance. As part of that effort, the DIV held this workshop in which it invited the KDIC to share its experiences and know-how in implementing the deposit insurance system. During the workshop, the KDIC delegation had meetings with members of the Economic Committee including Dr. Nguyen Duc Kien, the Vice Chair of the Committee, and Dr. Bui Khac Son, General Director of the DIV other officials and provided consultation regarding the draft bill. It is expected that the efforts to enact a law on deposit insurance in Vietnam will gain momentum with this workshop. The KDIC is committed to providing any policy consultation necessary not only for the enactment of a deposit insurance law, but for future development of the deposit insurance system in Vietnam.
