- A Meeting between the KDIC Chairman & President and the DIV General Director on April 17, 2012
On April 17 (Tue), 2012, KDIC Chairman & President, Seung-Woo Lee met with General Director Bui Khac Son
of the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam (DIV) who visited the KDIC.
In particular, Chairman & President Lee expressed special interest in the DIV's Project for the Modernization of
the Financial Industry and Establishment of an Information Management System and effort for the legislation of a
deposit insurance law.* He said that the KDIC was ready to provide any assistance that the DIV may need.
* The deposit insurance system in Vietnam is currently being implemented based on government decrees, etc.
The deposit insurance bill which was developed in 2011 is expected to pass the National Assembly of Vietnam
sometime in the first half of this year.
The DIV General Director also expressed interest in the KDIC's project to share experience in implementing the
deposit insurance system with global partners, a project that the KDIC has chosen as a priority for continued
growth.
In the meantime, KDIC staff gave presentations for the Vietnamese delegation including the General Director
from April 17 (Tue) to 18 (Wed) about the deposit insurance system in Korea and the KDIC's IT system
Going forward, the KDIC will continue to work with the DIV and share experiences so that the DIV can continue
to advance its deposit insurance system.
